Angola: Justice and Partiality

In Cabinda and other parts of the country, they have celebrated when some political and civil society figures or Activists are called to justice, convicted, and imprisoned. But they forget the organs of justice, which often act on the margins of the law, without respecting the rights and guarantees of the alleged wrongdoers, nor do they consider the maximum “presumption of innocence”, promoting in advance a public trial that damages the good name, honor, and reputation of accused or defendants.

If it is for justice that the Attorney General of the Republic (PGR) exists, then do a fair justice. For the court or seat of the defendant is for all of us, before justice, whether for condemnation or for absolution, as long as there is justice it’s welcoming. It is not possible to celebrate just for being Aldina da Lomba or Manuel Vicente, nor for Marcos Mavungo or Luaty Beirão, but to celebrate only when the organs of Justice operate strictly by respecting the law and safeguarding the rights and guarantees of the citizens listed in legal proceedings.

We must also not forget that those who say they fight corruption, embezzlement, money laundering, and money laundering today, in the past were conniving, have failed to play their role of safeguarding legality.

The Attorney General of the Republic (PGR) and the Governors of that time, worked in the same context if, on the one hand, the Attorney General of the Republic (PGR) was unable to fulfill its role of defending legality and constitutional guarantees, on the other hand, government officials also had no obligation as public servants, to respect the law of the general budget of the State.

So if ex-government officials are to blame for embezzling funds and criminal management practices, then the Attorney General of the Republic (PGR) is also to blame for not enforcing the law, so I think that everyone who worked for justice in that context should be held responsible as well as have ex-government officials, who harmed the State, have been held responsible.
